Runes in Archero 2 form a core build axis alongside characters and gear. Each rune's option range varies by slot type (Enhancement, Skill, Blessing, Etched, etc.) and rarity (rare, epic, legendary, mythic). The tiers on this page are organized by which runes are most frequently adopted per slot in the 60-second PvP arena environment and in PvE.
The same rune can be evaluated differently depending on the character it pairs with and the current meta. Tier 1 runes are near-fixed inclusions in most major builds, while Tier 2-3 runes are conditional picks that reach Tier 1-level efficiency only with specific character or gear combinations.

QDo runes have a bigger impact than characters?
Generally, characters have a bigger impact. However, in matchups where everyone uses the same character, the runes equipped become the differentiator. Switching to new runes when the meta shifts is also advantageous, but new runes are released less frequently than new characters — so the stable approach is to evenly level the runes you have and concentrate enchantment resources on the ones you need.
QDo I need to fill every slot with Tier 1 runes?

QAre rune enchantments evaluated separately?
Yes — enchantments are organized on a separate Rune Enchantment Tier List. Because the same rune's effective performance changes drastically based on enchantment options, we recommend judging by both the rune's own tier and its enchantment tier together. That said, investing enchantment resources into runes that are not Tier 1 or Tier 2 is not recommended.
QHow do I obtain runes?
Runes can be obtained from chapter rewards, event pools, rune fusion, rune gachas, and other paths. The system is built around fusing lower-rarity runes upward toward mythic, so it is important to consistently stockpile base runes.
