Arrow Ability Calculator Guide
Front Arrow and Diagonal Arrows are powerful abilities that add extra projectiles, but they come bundled with a main weapon damage penalty — making them classic trade-off abilities. This calculator quantifies the question "does taking Front Arrow (or Diagonal Arrows) actually help my build?".
Each Front Arrow stack reduces main weapon damage by 15%, stacking up to 2 for a combined 30% reduction. Diagonal Arrows follows the same structure, also stacking up to 2. More arrows do not automatically mean higher DPS — your absolute main weapon damage has to be high enough for the extra projectiles to offset the penalty.

On builds that have pushed main weapon damage high through runes, enchantments, gear, engravings, and artifacts, the 30% reduction is a small slice of the total, so the extra arrows raise overall DPS. On low-investment builds — typical of F2P or light spenders — the 30% cut weighs too heavily and total DPS drops even with more arrows. Enter your build numbers here to compare DPS with and without Front Arrow side by side and decide based on the actual figures.
Frequently Asked Questions
QShould I always avoid Front Arrow?
No. On high-spec builds with sufficient main weapon damage, the gain from extra projectiles outweighs the -15%/-30% penalty of 1-2 Front Arrow stacks, raising total DPS. Plug your build numbers into this calculator and decide based on the result.
QDoes the same logic apply to Diagonal Arrows?
Diagonal Arrows also stacks up to 2, and you can compare DPS with and without the ability the same way. One caveat: when paired with Tracking, both diagonal projectiles consistently hit the target, so taking Diagonal Arrows is the right call in nearly every situation.
QHow should F2P and light spenders treat Front Arrow?
At lower investment levels, absolute main weapon damage is low, so the -15%/-30% penalty is a large share of the total — taking Front Arrow often drops overall DPS. If the calculator shows a loss for your build, prioritize other abilities and revisit the decision once your main weapon damage has been raised through further investment.
QWhere do I find my main weapon damage?
You can read your current damage from the in-game main weapon detail screen. The final damage shown there — already adjusted by runes, enchantments, gear options, engravings, and artifact set effects — is the value to enter into this calculator, so use the in-game number as-is when comparing results.
