Sprite Damage — Inheritance, Crit & Assist Test
Topic
Sprite builds are full of similar-sounding options, so it is easy to lose track of what multiplies what. I measured, one change at a time, how much of the hero's stats sprites inherit and where Sprite DMG%, Frenzy, Enhance, the Assist rune and enchantments each enter.
Overall conclusions
- Sprite ATKInherits hero ATK
When hero ATK% rises, sprites get stronger by the same ratio. Only the bullet ratio (40–60%) is multiplied on top.
- Sprite DMG%Adds among sprite options
Sprite DMG% from enchantments, runes and artifacts adds into one bracket, which multiplies with hero ATK%.
- Sprite Frenzy · EnhanceSeparate multiplier
An independent bracket that is never diluted by stacked Sprite DMG%, so pick them first in a run.
- Sprite crit0% by default, inherited via Assist rune
From Assist legendary+2 sprites inherit 40% of hero crit rate, and at mythic 50% of crit damage.
- Assist (synchronized attack)Extra shot per hero shot
Only main sprites take part; clones do not. Faster hero attack speed means more sprite shots.
- Sprite's Awe legendaryHero ATK%
It reads "enemies take 5% more damage", but in practice your ATK% rises per sprite. It adds together with Warrior's Soul.
- Right-side enchantmentsSprite DMG ×2
Two Sprite DMG 30% beat every Sprite CRIT DMG combination in every bracket tested.

Test 1 · Hero ATK inheritance
Adding hero ATK +30% raised the hero's plain hit and the Bolt Sprite's hit by the same ratio (about 15%). Sprites inherit the hero's final ATK as-is and only multiply the bullet ratio.
How I compared:Measured a Bolt Sprite hit and the hero's plain hit together, then raised total ATK% from 100% to 130% and measured again.
| Hero plain hit | Sprite hit | |
|---|---|---|
| ATK% 100% | 100.0K | 50.1K |
| ATK% 130% | 114.9K | 57.6K |
Formula
Sprite hit = hero final ATK × bullet ratio (Bolt 50%) → 100.0K × 0.5 ≈ 50K, 114.9K × 0.5 ≈ 57.5K
Test 2 · Sprite DMG%
One Sprite DMG +30% enchantment gave +30%, but the second only +23%. Sprite DMG% adds with itself and multiplies with hero ATK%.
How I compared:Measured a Bolt Sprite hit with 0 → 1 → 2 Sprite DMG enchantments.
×1.00
+29.7%
+22.9%
Formula
× (1 + total Sprite DMG%) → ×1.3 = 65.1K, ×1.6 = 80.2K (the second 30% is worth 1.6 ÷ 1.3 ≈ +23%)
Test 3 · Sprite Frenzy and Sprite Enhance
Even with Sprite DMG already at +60%, Sprite Frenzy added close to 30%, and Enhance on top brought it near +60%. The two form their own bracket that does not mix with other sprite options.
How I compared:With Sprite DMG +60%, measured a Bolt Sprite hit after picking the in-run ability Sprite Frenzy, then Frenzy + Sprite Enhance.
×1.59
+30.3%
+23.2%
On an account past 300% Sprite DMG a single +30% is worth under 10%, but Frenzy and Enhance still add their full 30% each. In a run they come before any Sprite DMG 30% option.
Formula
× (1 + Frenzy 30% + Enhance 30%) → 79.9K × 1.3 ≈ 103.9K, × 1.6 ≈ 127.8K (multiplies with the Sprite DMG% bracket)
Test 4 · Sprite crit and the Assist rune
Without the Assist rune, sprites never crit once in 200 hits. From legendary+2 they crit at close to 40% of the hero's crit rate, and at mythic the crit hit itself grew much larger.
How I compared:With hero crit rate 60% and crit damage 275%, swapped the Sprite Assist rune none → legendary+2 → mythic and counted crits and the crit hit size over 200 sprite hits.
| Crits / 200 | Crit rate | Crit hit | |
|---|---|---|---|
| No Assist rune | 0 | 0.0% | — |
| Assist legendary+2 | 47 | 23.5% | 75.2K |
| Assist mythic | 49 | 24.5% | 143.6K |
Crit damage inheritance is half of the full crit damage value shown on the stat screen. At legendary+2 the crit hit uses only the base 150% multiplier.
Formula
Sprite crit rate = hero crit rate × 40% (legendary+2) → 24% · sprite crit multiplier = 150% + hero crit damage × 50% (mythic) → 150 + 137.5 = 287.5% → 50.1K × 2.875 ≈ 144K
Test 5 · Assist (synchronized attack)
With Assist legendary, sprite shots over 20 seconds rose from 160 to about 290. Every time the hero fires, every main sprite fires one extra shot; clones did not join.
How I compared:With 4 Bolt Sprites and the hero firing about 2 shots per second, counted sprite shots over 20 seconds: no Assist rune → Assist legendary → Assist legendary + Sprite's Awe epic (clones).
| Shots / 20 s | Per second | |
|---|---|---|
| No Assist rune | 160 | 8.0 |
| Assist legendary | 291 | 14.6 |
| Assist legendary + 4 clones | 292 | 14.6 |
Raising sprite attack speed itself did not push elemental sprites past roughly 10 shots per second. Beyond that, raising hero attack speed to get more Assist shots is what works.
Formula
Assist shots/s ≈ hero shots/s × 80% × main sprites → 2 × 0.8 × 4 = 6.4/s → about 128 extra in 20 s
Test 6 · What Sprite's Awe legendary really does
It reads "enemies take 5% more damage", yet my ATK on the stat screen rose 5% for every sprite added. It shares a bracket with Warrior's Soul, so together they come out slightly below a straight multiply.
How I compared:With Sprite's Awe legendary equipped, raised sprite count 0 → 3 → 6 and read the stat-screen ATK, then compared with Warrior's Soul (ATK +30%) added.
| Sprites | Stat-screen ATK |
|---|---|
| 0 sprites | 500.0K |
| 3 sprites | 574.8K |
| 6 sprites | 649.7K |
| Stat-screen ATK | |
|---|---|
| Warrior's Soul only | 530.1K |
| Warrior's Soul + Awe (6 sprites) | 680.2K |
Because it enters hero ATK%, the hero's plain hit and sprite/plant damage rise together, but damage that does not inherit hero ATK, such as mystling skills, was unaffected.
Formula
At 400% total ATK%: Awe with 6 sprites +30 → 5.3/5.0 = +6.0% · both +60 → 5.6/5.0 = +12.0% (a multiply would give +12.4%)
Test 7 · Right-side enchantments — Sprite DMG vs Sprite CRIT DMG
Over 20 seconds, two Sprite DMG 30% produced the most damage; one of each came out about 12% lower and two Sprite CRIT DMG about 26% lower. Raising crit rate to 60% did not change the order.
How I compared:With Sprite's Awe mythic + Assist mythic equipped, swapped only the two right-side enchantments and measured total sprite damage over 20 seconds, with Sprite DMG ×2 set to 100%.
-12.1%
-25.7%
For crit damage enchantments to win, sprite crit rate must be very high and hero crit damage low. With Assist mythic inheriting half of crit damage, that never happened.
Formula
Value of Sprite DMG +30 = 0.3 ÷ (1 + total Sprite DMG%) · value of CRIT DMG +30 = 0.3 × P ÷ (1 + P × (M − 1)), P = sprite crit rate, M = sprite crit multiplier

Attack interval shortens with sprite attack speed %, but elemental sprites did not get faster than roughly 10 shots per second.
Summary — how one sprite hit is calculated
Putting the seven tests together, one sprite hit multiplies through the stages below. Options within a stage add.
- AHero final ATK × bullet ratioMultiplies
Hero ATK × (1 + hero ATK%) × 40–60%Hero ATK%, Warrior's Soul, Rabbit's Foot and Sprite's Awe legendary all add here. (Tests 1 · 6)
- BSprite DMG%Adds
× (1 + total Sprite DMG%)Sprite DMG enchantments, Awe mythic 30%, Ravenous Chain, sprite skill stacks, combo talent. (Test 2)
- CSprite Frenzy · EnhanceAdds
× (1 + Frenzy 30% + Enhance 30%)A bracket only these two enter. Never diluted however high Sprite DMG% goes. (Test 3)
- DTarget-type damageAdds
× (1 + boss damage + ground/air)Boss damage and ground amplification are copied from the hero to sprites as-is.
- ESprite critAdds
× (1 − P + P × M)P = hero crit rate × 40% (Assist legendary+2) + sprite crit rate enchantment; M = 150% + hero crit damage × 50% (Assist mythic) + sprite crit damage enchantment. (Tests 4 · 7)
- FDamage taken increase · final · reductionMultiplies
× (1 + damage taken increase) × (1 + Hunt Mark) × final × reductionRing of Agony and Fool debuffs, the Hawk Sprite's Hunt Mark (sprite damage +15%), mystling final damage, opponent reduction.
How to apply this
- In a run, take Sprite Frenzy and Sprite Enhance before any Sprite DMG 30% option. Sprite DMG% is already high, so one more 30% is worth little.
- To see sprite crits at all, the Assist rune at legendary+2 is the starting point. Before that, sprites never crit unless you enchant sprite crit rate.
- Lock the two right-side enchantments to Sprite DMG 30%. Crit damage combinations never overtook it with Assist mythic equipped.
- Sprite's Awe legendary is hero ATK%. It shares a bracket with Warrior's Soul and Rabbit's Foot, so stacking all three comes out below a straight multiply.
- Even extreme sprite attack speed stops around 10 shots per second for elemental sprites. Put the spare investment into hero attack speed for more Assist shots.
